Conde was the fourth and final stop in our Brazilian odyssey last November. There was nothing about it in our guidebook – it was simply mentioned in a list of places with surf. But it was convenient, about halfway between where we had been and where we were ultimately going, so we decided to go for it.

What we found was a charming, undiscovered beachfront village that we seemed to have all to ourselves. The locals are friendly and the weather is perfect – in the 70s and 80s with a cooling breeze on the beach.

And it was on this beach – on November 11, 2007, at exactly 11:11 a.m. (and 11 seconds) – that Mike proposed to Catherine. A few seconds later she accepted … and then Mike went surfing.

We decided it would be really special, for ourselves and for our family and friends, to have our wedding in the same place and on the same date that we chose to make this amazing commitment to each other. We hope you’ll be as enchanted as we were with Conde.
